With the group back together we stayed by the tavern for the night and prepared for the day to come. I’ve been trying to teach Dwyane to hint of late but he’s still not getting it. Ended up staying up till like 1am because he disappeared in the Woods.
Luckily I was able to sleep in and came down to the party ready for action once more. Well, what’s left of it anyway with out fighter having departed. A new adventurer walked in though and got pointed over to our table. Seems a nice bloke too called Exsisto, the religious sort I’m guessing but built for combat.
After a little chat to get acquainted he agreed to come along and help us with our quest. Back up to the broken tower once more and yep, that damn climb up will seriously be the death of me. Fell down again taking some knocks, but made it up the second time with a rope. Then it was down and this time taking a slight path on the right side.
It led around to a strange room with a weird looking raven perched on the bookshelf at the back. A room for torture it looked like too… Creepy stuff. Exist, the new meat shield went in first.. And the bird told him to sit n the spike chairs,so he did. Blood everywhere of course. It asked the rest of us too, and that “the great Baron Sarvo wills it” or some other nonsense but we weren’t having any of that. Tried talking with it but just that same nonsense, and wanting our blood.
I had to know what this thing was though and started concentrating on its magical properties, which made it go Invisible. Stills ending it I told the others it was coming for the middle. Exist squeezed himself out of that chair, grabbed his cap thing off and threw it towards the centre. It was rather odd when a flying lump started squirming inside which made both Quinn and moon ah take a shot at it – didn’t seem to do much damage though.
Being as it was trapped now I thought to make it worse for the creature and threw my tanglefoot bag at it. It stuck for a second but then the creature slipped out of it, and the Cape and went Invisible again. A moment later it reappears, this time in the form of some kind of small devil that lashes out at exsisto, who missed in retaliation. Moonah then comes up with those weird looking mothrol blades he found and stick both into the creature – which makes it shriek out.
Mara taking the initiative blasts it with colourful lights well, just after Dwyane had swooped in of course, knocking Dwyane unconscious and stunning the imp. While the rest bind and intimidate the imp before the rogue just stabs the thing. It didn’t seem to be useful, and an unnatural thing but still – it might have proved useful. Quinn gets a little mad at this since it said it knew some kind of password and stabilises the imp. Then tied it up and chucks it on his shoulder.
I took the time to yell, rather loudly at Marra. Dwyane was still out cold and not moving and like, she could have told me to keep Dwyane back beforehand. I guess as we work more as a group that whole teamwork thing will be better.
Next it was following another corridor that led to a a long stretch of, what could only be acid. All stinky, bubbly and green. We test it with a few objects first and the imps foot but don’t learn anything. I stick my foot in and it, stings a tiny bit but not really. I follow the small ledge to the right that twists around above the acid before wreaking off. And Wade through the rest.
The rest of the party make there way across, trying to jump that last gap in the path but getting the good bath anyway. Exsisto, the pally just jumps on in at the start and carries Dwyane above him… Nice guy.
We then came across a double door situation, the first a large iron door with a slay, and the next a magically locked one. Taking it this was the password door. We still needed the password and the others asked me to heal the imp, and get him to talk again. I really didn’t want to though, unnatural beast it is but relented. The imp roused only to tease and belittle moonah who was trying to get answers by knifes edge, and of course ramble about the Baron Sarvo.
It hit me here though. We’d been hearing that same sentence over and over. We closed both doors, yelled out “the great Baron Sarvo wills it”, and the door in front opened. Hurrah… and then, as quick as a flash we had one dead imp. Gotta watch that rogue. Upon entering the next room the door slams behind us and a large metal construct then asks for a crest. A key dangles above it.
Exsisto steps forward and goes into a defensive stance. Moonah darts along the right wall. The construct then moves forward, but then turns to the rogue and charges to attack although he seems to become a whirl of movement which the Construct can’t hit. Me and Marra fire off stones from our staff slings that just bounce off the armour. I motion for Dwayne to get the key, who grabs it but it seems magically charmed and slips out and back into position. Exsisto then give a might yell and I swear he glowed bright for a second, and then slams down on the construct. It buckles from the hit, shoulder creaking and cracking, screws popping and the metal shell buckling. Moonah takes the next two hits and the construct crumples to the floor.
From here we decide to settle down for a short rest within the dungeon, the gather ourselves and prepare for whats to come.
